Denis and Tanya had dreams of moving abroad to find better opportunities to do more travel, more often. Denis had job offers throughout Europe as drug developer, but the couple’s relocation destination would depend on the ease in which Tanya could continue her medical career. @MoveMyTalent outlined how they can help in #Estonia, which convinced the couple to settle just over the border from their native Saint Petersburg.
“We got information from MMT that Russian medical doctors can continue their careers in Estonia if they study the local language, Denis said. “Now, they organised for us to have Estonian lessons.”
But while the requirements for their careers were met, Denis and Tanya still needed new friends and a sense of purpose away from the office before they could feel settled in their new home.
“For me, it was a challenge, because I did not feel like I was at home,” Tanya said. “It was a little bit stressful, but the MMT worker found us activities and kept in touch with us, which is important to me because we didn’t have many friends here. I can say she was our first Estonian friend.”
