Tax residency registration is obligatory for everyone whose address is registered in Estonia or who is residing in Estonia for more than 183 days per year.
👉 Sign in to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board site on maasikas.emta.ee using your temporary residence permit card (and ID-card reader), Mobile-ID or Smart-ID.
👉 Open Dashboard view that displays balances of claims and liabilities, prepayment accounts, and contact details.
👉 Click on ‘Registers and inquiries’. You should see this page come up.
👉 Under ‘Registration’, click ‘Determination of residency’. On this page, you will see registration applications if any have been submitted, and it will be displayed whether the Tax Board has registered your tax residency as Estonian.
Once the registration has been confirmed, you should also inform the accounting department of your company about the change in tax residency status.
